Training and Development

A skilled adult educator and facilitator, Dawn McCoy has conducted training needs analyses, developed and delivered customized Leadership and HR centric training programs, and helped organizations roll-out policies and procedures in digital or classroom format. We can help you by conducting a training needs analysis, setting up your Learning Management System, developing and delivering in-class training or developing an e-learning program.

Training often does not ‘stick’ with trainees, for a number of reasons. One of the most important is the lack of stakeholder engagement in the learning journey. Using a combination of program customization to meet your goals, supervisor accountability/support, classroom/online training and group coaching sessions to cement the learning, our programs deliver the desired results.

Supervisory development is identified as a priority in the majority of private and public sector organizations. The challenge for supervisors who have been promoted internally is that they are typically promoted because they are great in their jobs. Unfortunately most do not have any training in how to be a supervisor. They get put in their new jobs, and typically are expected to be able to supervise people – essentially setting them up for failure.

The objective of this program is to teach new supervisors, or even seasoned supervisors who have never had any training, the basics of supervision – what they need to get the most out of their people and lead with confidence. This customized program has been developed with input from the target audience – your front line supervisors and provided what they believe they need to be effective in their roles.

The world of HR is changing very quickly. There are increasing demands to become more business-focused and data driven. We are being asked for evidence-based HR recommendations and business plans. Further there is an increasing demand for HR to embrace digital applications and services and it is a struggle to keep up with day to day work, let alone stay on top of technology!
